Treatments
Individualized treatment, not a one-size-fits-all approach.
Four broad treatment pathways make it easier to understand where your needs may fit. Your actual plan is always based on a complete orthodontic evaluation.

Children & growing smiles
Use growth thoughtfully when timing matters.
Early orthodontic evaluation can reveal developing bite, jaw or space concerns while a child is still growing. Treatment is recommended only when there is a clear reason to intervene.
Early / interceptive treatment
Early evaluation of developing bite and jaw concerns in growing children as they are taking place. Early evaluation does not necessarily mean that the patient needs immediate treatment; rather the goal is to actively supervise and monitor growth until intervention provides maximum benefit. The goal is to guide growth as opposed to reacting to problems when it is too late.
Growth modification & functional appliances
Guiding jaw and facial development during key growth spurts to harmonize facial proportions, correct underbites or severe overbites, and create space for permanent teeth. These treatments are very time-sensitive and can make meaningful changes to avoid future surgeries.
Space and eruption guidance
Carefully timed treatment can create space for developing adult teeth, helping them erupt naturally and reducing the need for extractions.
Braces & clear aligners
The appliance is a tool. The treatment plan is what matters.
Modern braces and clear aligners can both create excellent results in the right situation. The recommendation depends on the movements needed, your bite, your goals and how you want treatment to fit your routine.
Modern braces
Low-profile, precision brackets offering predictable 3D tooth movement for children, teens, and adults. Customized to your smile arc and facial esthetics.
Clear aligner therapy
Discreet, comfortable orthodontic treatment personally planned and digitally staged by Dr. Ohanesian—not outsourced to automated computer algorithms.

Expansion, airway & facial development
Straight teeth are only part of the picture.
The jaws, airway, tongue, bite and facial growth are interconnected. When clinically appropriate, orthodontic evaluation can help identify developing concerns and whether expansion or other growth-focused care should be considered.
MARPE
Miniscrew-Assisted Rapid Palatal Expansion (MARPE) for adolescents and adults. Expands narrow upper jaws to resolve crossbites and support nasal breathing without invasive surgery.
Palatal expansion
By working with a child’s natural growth, palatal expansion uses a minimally invasive procedure to widen a narrow upper jaw, correct crossbites, create space for developing teeth, and support healthier airway function.
Airway-focused evaluation
Evaluation of narrow palates, mouth breathing, tongue posture, and oral habits. We consider how orthodontic development impacts airway volume, sleep, and overall health.
Adults & advanced orthodontics
Complex does not have to mean confusing.
Adults may come with different priorities, previous dental work or more complex bite concerns. The focus is a clear diagnosis and coordinated plan that respects long-term function as well as esthetics.
Advanced & complex orthodontics
Utilizing temporary skeletal anchorage devices (TADs / mini-implants), laser-assisted gingival contouring, and advanced biomechanics for challenging dental movements.
Adult orthodontics
It is never too late for a confident, healthy smile. Tailored solutions for crowding, bite collapse, relapse, or pre-restorative preparation for dental implants.
Surgical orthodontics
Coordinated orthodontic and surgical care for complex jaw discrepancies to improve facial balance, bite, and function.
